Karate classes are given at the Beaudoin PurSang Training Center in Gatineau. The center was founded in 1980 by Denis Beaudoin, a renowned karate sensei. Initially created as a non-profit shotokan karate school, recognized by the City of Gatineau, our center has evolved over the years to become a private company in 2006. Since then, we have expanded our offering to include a variety of fitness and fitness, cross-training and weightlifting classes.
Our Karate classes are supervised by a competent and dynamic team, and adapt to the level of each person. Adults, teenagers, and children can attend our Karate classes, and participate in Karate competitions.

We teach the values, philosophy and techniques of traditional Japanese shotokan karate founded by Master Gichin Funakoshi and transmitted by Master Toru Yamaguchi,9th Dan, and Sensei Denis Beaudoin,8th Dan, within the Beaudoin Todokai Canada Japan Shotokan Karate-Do style organization and we award official diplomas from yellow to black7th Dan.
Affiliated with Karate Quebec and Karate Canada, our athletes distinguish themselves on the regional, provincial, national and international scene within the official competition network of the World Karate Federation, as recognized by governments and the International Olympic Committee, as members of the Quebec team and the Canadian national team.

Specialized program to learn how to handle the traditional weapons of Japan: Bo (long stick), Sai (small sword), Tonfa (short staff), Nunchaku (short sticks with chain) and Kama (small scythe), with the possibility of passing belts recognized by the Kobudo Association of Japan, from yellow belt to black belt. White suit mandatory.
This program is available to ages 10 and up.
N.B. The parent of a registered child-adolescent or the spouse of a registered adult can train with him or her free of charge for three months.
Functional training combining martial arts techniques and physical skills techniques in the form of stations, the goal of which is to develop children’s reflexes, coordination, flexibility, speed, precision, agility, balance and strength. The child receives his “Ninja” headband and his value book when he registers.
For 20 years, we have been organizing a summer day camp “Les Petits Ninjas” for children aged 4 to 11. 50% of the time is spent learning karate and the rest of the time is spent on games, activities, outdoors, crafts, songs, and swimming.
Sport-Elite/Sport-Études Competition Program
In accordance with the Canadian Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) program, our specialized Sport-Elite competition program has a reputation for excellence on the national and international scene. This program has proven itself for many years by producing several world champions and elite athletes on the Quebec Team and on the Canadian National Team. Through this program, our athletes can accelerate their progress by training 4 to 8 hours per week in kata and combat.
In addition, our Sport-Elite athletes who wish to complement and intensify their training even more to obtain better results, can follow the Sport-Études karate program at Nicolas-Gatineau High Schoolfrom grade 6 to Secondary 5, where they receive more than 15 hours of training per week in kata, combat, strength training, psychology, nutrition, visualization, etc.
College and university athletes can also take the Sport-Études program with modified schedules according to their availability.
Athletes wishing to intensify their training in order to have better results in competition can follow the Sport-Études karate program at École polyvalente Nicolas-Gatineau.
This program is intended for hopeful, up-and-coming and elite athletesfrom Grade 6 to Secondary 5.
Athletes go to school in the morning and train 15 hours a week in the afternoon (weight training, fighting, kata, physical conditioning, nutrition, psychology, video, etc.).
College and university athletes can also take the Sport-Études program with modified schedules according to their availability.
This Sport-Study program is recognized by the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with Karate Quebec, and according to the orientations of Karate Canada’s Long-Term Athlete Development Program.
This program has so far trained several champions and athletes on the Quebec team and on the Canadian national team, while allowing them to excel at the academic level.
Adapted program on request for people 10 years of age and older with a disability or impairment.
On request, it is possible to take 30-minute private lessons for technical improvement with Sensei Denis Beaudoin.
On-demand program for women 12 years of age and older once a week to learn how to defend themselves against physical and verbal assault.
Karate classes are available from the age of 3 through the parent-child program. Children can continue with lessons adapted to their age and level, from 8 years old to adulthood.
Adult classes include traditional karate, “Kobudo” weapon handling, private lessons, and self-defense classes for women. Participants can also join the competition team.
This specialized program is for students from Grade 5 to Secondary 5. Mornings are devoted to academic studies, followed by intensive training at the Beaudoin Centre each afternoon. The objective of the program is to allow athletes interested in performing on the provincial, national and international scene to develop their competitive skills. The training sessions are supervised by certified trainers. The program includes karate training, physical training, sports psychology workshops, sports nutrition workshop and more.

The parent-child course (3 to 7 years old) is ideal for introducing the youngest to karate while sharing an experience with their parents. For

Yes, adult karate classes are designed for all levels. Beginners can learn the basics of traditional karate, while experienced practitioners can move towards the handling of “Kobudo” weapons or join competitions.
The Women’s Self-Defense course is perfect for learning practical defense techniques while building self-confidence.
